Dear DeFi City Community,
Firstly, we would like to apologize for the recent lack of communication from the team. We faced several internal issues, which we acknowledged over the course of the project. In particular, the development speed and quality were not up to our expectations, and we had to consider how to improve on these aspects.
An important factor was the COVID-19 pandemic, as the implementation of home office regulations hindered development speed. The coordination of the three core departments (web, game and blockchain) was not as optimal as had been planned, and communication issues led to delays and errors in the project.
As you might have noticed, the current platform is not as stable as originally intended. We used the contracts and APIs of zapper.fi to implement the functionalities we needed (swapping, setting up a farm, providing liquidity etc). However, this proved to be a mistake, which led to an unstable platform. These errors cannot be identified independently, as it is difficult to determine whether it’s an error on the platform or on the zapper.fi part. To tackle this, we have chosen to take our time to consider how we can bring our own solution, implementing our own custom contracts. We believe this is the best way to achieve a stabler and more workable platform. The new team is working on this at the moment.
The team was not happy with the current state of matters. Unfortunately, several team members had to be replaced The processes were reviewed in retrospect and we have to admit that we were not happy with how things were going. Therefore, we had to take action and replace team members in the key development roles and redefine the roadmap of this project. In the beginning of the year we onboarded new key developers, which already started working on an improved version.
Now it is time to communicate our new roadmap and give already some glimpses of what will change in the future. The new lead game developers are onboarded in February, as well as the new website is being created. Old smart contracts will be merched to a new staking mechanism and the Link fee will be removed.
Liquidity providing, crafting and a marketplace are core features which will be released within this time period.
From a marketing perspective we will increase the Twitter activity, upload blog updates and interact with the community with games and giveaways. Especially our channels on Discord and Telegram are important for us. The new roadmap will be visible on our new website with the release.
Next to this we are planning a big burn of the DFC token thus decreasing the total supply of the token.
